Master of Arts: School Counseling (Type 73)
Dr. Rebecca Taylor, Director
Olivet Nazarene University‘s Master of Arts: School Counseling program prepares men and women to become professional counselors who make a difference in the K–12 educational setting. We believe school counselors can make a lasting impact in the lives of students.
We also know that you lead a busy life and our programs are tailored to your unique needs as an adult learner. Classes meet one night per week, with additional coursework completed in collaborative learning teams. These learning teams meet outside of regular classroom time, typically one time per week. An entering class remains together throughout the MASC program and this is a three year program.
The Master of Arts: School Counseling program leads to Type 73 certification upon successful completion of the state certification test. As a student in this program, your coursework will address a wide range of general counseling topics, as well as specific school issues and populations. Your education will also be practical, as it will include practicum and internship experiences in K–12 schools under the supervision of qualified school counselors.
