Master of Arts in Teaching
Dr. Michele Anders, Director
Olivet Nazarene University‘s fully accredited Education programs are designed to give men and women the knowledge they need to make a difference in the life of every K–12 student in our schools. We believe in the influence of teachers.
We also know you lead a busy life. Our accelerated programs are tailored to your unique needs as an adult learner. Classes meet one night per week or on the weekends, much of the coursework is completed in collaborative learning teams, an entering class stays together throughout a program and programs can be completed in 24 months or less. At the same time, our programs feature the academic rigor you would expect from a leading liberal arts university.
Olivet’s unique Master of Arts in Teaching program is tailored to the adult student with a bachelor’s degree who wants to be a teacher. The program leads to certification in K - 6 and 9 - 12, with a possibility of a middle school endorsement. As a prospective teacher in this program, you will discover how to provide learning opportunities for students, with concern for them as human beings with unique learning styles. You will also participate in field experiences to improve your teaching skills.
