Medical, Dental & Vision care provided through Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois.
- Employee pays $40.00/month
- Any additional dependents on the plan are $225.00/month
Prescription coverage is provided through Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois. Prescription costs are tiered at $10/$20/35.00 or 20% of drug cost
Each employee is eligible to enroll in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), which is used to pay out-of-pocket health care and dependent care expenses.
Life insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance is provided to every employee at no cost to the individual.
Disability insurance pays approximately 60% of salary after 6 months of disability.
An employer retirement contribution begins upon first day of employment on the employee’s behalf. Employees are not required to contribute to the retirement plan, but it is strongly encouraged. The employer retirement contribution increases based on a schedule of years of service.
The University bookstore provides a 25% discount on non-sale items and a 10% discount on textbooks.
Leave time is awarded for staff employees, per the following schedule:
- Vacation: 10 days after 1 year of full time employment, 15 days after 5 years, 20 days after 10 years
- Sick: 10 days for full time employment. Pro-rated for partial year.
- Personal: 2 days for full time employment. Pro-rated for partial year.
- Leave time for faculty members is based on University holidays and breaks.
