Catalyst Innovation Center is being developed in a historic manufacturing facility at 231 E. Broadway, in Bradley, Illinois, a village of 16,000 located 50 miles south of Chicago in Kankakee County.

The five-story, 140,000-square foot brick building - long known as the David Bradley Building -  is being transformed into a modern hub for fostering local economic growth and diversity, promoting business success and new employment opportunities, and advocating a culture of entrepreneurship in Kankakee County and surrounding communities.

The center will offer modern amenities that provide a creative working environment and services such as business incubation, acceleration, co-working, business training and additional benefits that support entrepreneurship, research and innovation.

    Plans include:

    • Dedicated space to house and incubate small and start-up businesses.
    • Local business partnerships to provide internships for students as well as full- and part-time jobs for recent college graduates and others in the community.
    • Co-working space for professionals and students.
    • Project support, workforce training and technical assistance for local businesses via the expertise of Olivet students, faculty and staff, and business advisors.
    • Mentoring services and additional benefits to help businesses succeed.

Olivet Nazarene University leads development of the center in collaboration with Riverside Medical Center and the Economic Alliance of Kankakee County. Construction is under way to customize 22,000 square feet on the first floor of the building for Olivet's engineering students and faculty, as well as Riverside innovation design space and multi-discipline engagement projects.
