BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Senior Rachel Kearney (Marion, Iowa) posted a season-high 11 points, while junior Malory Adams (Aurora, Ill.) added a team-high 19 points to help the No. 17 Olivet Nazarene University women’s basketball team to a 117-68 win over Judson University (Ill.) on Saturday, Feb. 9. The win keeps the Tigers tied for second place with in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) standings and improves their overall record to 21-6 and 16-4 in the conference.
Kearney went a perfect 3-of-3 from behind the three-point line and pulled down six rebounds. The three treys and her four total field goals are both season-highs. Adams shot 5-of-8 from behind the arc and added two steals. Freshman Krystal James (Rockford, Ill.) added 18 points, including sinking 5-of-12 from behind the three-point line.
Senior Sandy Cabadas (Aurora, Ill.) contributed three blocks on the afternoon, while sophomore Bridgette Jones (Seymour, Ind.) added seven points, five steals and three assists. Sophomore Dakota Hack (Princeton, Ind.) pulled down six rebounds, while scoring seven points.
To open the final week of the regular season, the Tigers (21-6, 16-4) will travel to take on Purdue University-Calumet (Ind.) on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in Hammond, Ind. The Tigers and the Peregrine are tied for second in the current CCAC standings, sitting one game behind Roosevelt University (Ill.). The heated battle for the top spots heading into the final week includes five teams, only four of which will receive opening round byes.
