As the only university certified as a Best Christian Workplace for 2017, Olivet Nazarene University continues the tradition of employment excellence. The University is serving students at the main campus in Bourbonnais, Illinois; additional locations in Rolling Meadows and Oak Brook, Illinois; Indianapolis, Indiana; Grand Rapids and Grand Ledge, Michigan; Hong Kong; more than 100 School of Graduate and Continuing Studies
learning locations throughout Chicagoland and the Midwest; and offering many online degree opportunities.
This is the 12th consecutive year Olivet has earned this honor from Best Christian Workplaces (BCWI), an organization that provides consultation and research to help Christian workplaces flourish.
“While we are grateful for the honor of this recognition, we use the results of the survey to identify areas where we can learn and improve,” said Dr. David Pickering, Olivet’s executive vice president for administration and human resources. “Our collective goal is to make ONU a wonderful place to serve — one that models Christian virtues in how we interact with one another as we continue to provide Education with a Christian Purpose.”
To qualify for the Best Christian Workplace designation, Olivet was required to have employees complete the BCWI employee engagement survey, and 84 percent of employees participated.
Responses were assessed against BCWI standards in the areas of staff calling and passion, trustworthy culture, talent management, strategy and execution, innovation and staff involvement, authentic Christian leadership, personal development, compensation and benefits, and teamwork. Additional open-ended questions allowed employees to share more information about Olivet as an employer and to suggest improvements. For more information about enrolling as a student at Olivet, contact the Office of Admissions at firstname.lastname@example.org or 800-648-1463.
