“Start every change project with a clear and compelling statement of the goal you’re trying to achieve,” says Joseph Grenny, co-chairman and co-founder of VitalSmarts, an innovator in corporate training and leadership development. “Measure your progress. Measure the right thing, and measure it frequently.”

Grenny is one of 14 featured speakers for Willow Creek Association’s 2014 Global Leadership Summit. Olivet is partnering with College Church of the Nazarene to host this premier leadership training event August 14 and 15, at College Church’s North Campus in Bourbonnais.

His 2014 Summit presentation on “Mastering the Art of Crucial Conversations” further establishes him as a key influencer for leaders who want to get better. An acclaimed keynote speaker and business strategy expert, Grenny has designed and implemented major corporate change initiatives for more than 25 years. He has advised thousands of leaders on every major continent, from the board rooms of Fortune 500 companies to the slums of Nairobi, Kenya.

Formerly president of California Computer Corporation and an executive for the Covey Leadership Center, he is co-author of the New York Times best sellers Change Anything, Crucial Conversations, Crucial Accountability and Influencer. He co-founded Unitus, a nonprofit organization that helps third-world citizens achieve economic self-reliance. He has appeared on “The Today Show,” CNN, Bloomberg and “Fox Business News.”

Other leadership experts presenting at this year’s event include: Bill Hybels, Jeffrey Immelt, Tyler Perry, Susan Cain, Wilfredo De Jesús, Patrick Lencioni, Carly Fiorina, Ivan Satyavrata, Bryan Loritts, Allen Catherine Kagina, Louie Giglio, Erica Ariel Fox and Don Flow. Find more information about each of them here.

The Summit is a two-day event that seeks to transform leaders around the world with an injection of vision, skill development and inspiration from a Christian perspective. This is a unique opportunity for business, church, government, nonprofit and education leaders — and their teams — to experience quality leadership training close to where they are. All are invited and encouraged to attend.
