Jeffrey Immelt, CEO of GE, featured presenter at live telecast of Summit

Posted: May 27, 2014

"I'm very excited for everyone to hear Jeffrey Immelt, the current CEO of General Electric," said Bill Hybels, pastor of Willow Creek Community Church and Summit organizer.

“I'm responsible for this company. I stand behind the results. I know the details, and I think the CEO has to be the moral leader of the company,” said Jeffrey Immelt about his role as CEO of General Electric since 2001. “I think high standards are good, but let's not anybody be confused, it's about performance with integrity. That's what you have to do.”

Immelt is one of 14 featured speakers for the live telecast of the 2014 Global Leadership Summit, August 14 and 15, at College Church, North Campus in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Olivet Nazarene University is partnering with College Church to host this premier leadership training event.

Named one of the “World’s Best CEOs” three times by Barrons, he holds a B.S. degree from Dartmouth College and a M.B.A. from Harvard University. Under his leadership, General Electric has been named “America’s Most Admired Company” in polls conducted by Barrons and Financial Times. He has also served as chair of the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.

Other leadership experts presenting at this year’s event include: Bill Hybels, Tyler Perry, Susan Cain, Wilfredo De Jesús, Patrick Lencioni, Carly Fiorina, Ivan Satyavrata, Bryan Loritts, Joseph Grenny, Allen Catherine Kagina, Louie Giglio, Erica Ariel Fox and Don Flow. Find more information about each of them here.

The Summit is a two-day event that seeks to transform leaders around the world with an injection of vision, skill development and inspiration from a Christian perspective. This is a unique opportunity for business, church, government, nonprofit and education leaders — and their teams — to experience quality leadership training close to where they are. All are invited and encouraged to attend.
