Veterans of more than 4,000 concerts, piano duo Stephen Nielson and Ovid Young '62 continue their musical collaboration in a performance with Olivet’s Symphony Orchestra and Concert Singers on September 20, 2013, at 7 p.m. The concert will be held on Olivet’s campus in the Betty and Kenneth Hawkins Centennial Chapel. The concert features classic melodies from Broadway and the silver screen, and will also feature tenor George Andrew Wolff '93.

Nielson and Young have been performing duets around the world since 1971 and are on the International Roster of Steinway Artists. Young currently serves as artist-in-residence in Olivet’s Department of Music.

Dr. Neal Woodruff conducts the 54-piece orchestra as well as Concert Singers, a chamber vocal ensemble comprised of 16 students. The evening’s repertoire will include selections from the musicals “Phantom of the Opera” by Andrew Lloyd Webber, “Camelot” by Frederick Loewe and “New York, New York” by John Kander and Fred Ebb and more.

No charge for the event. For more information, contact Olivet’s Department of Music at 815-939-5110 or lrutter@olivet.edu.
