The Original Harlem Globetrotters 2013 “You Write the Rules” Tour is coming to Olivet, Thursday, April 18, 7 p.m. Did you know that the fans have the opportunity to vote for the rules they want implemented when the team plays at McHie Arena?

Thousands of votes have already been cast during this tour, and the rules that the fans choose are a surprise each night. You can vote online here.

What is the most outrageous rule of all so far? According to the Globetrotters, it is “2 Ball Basketball.” Playing with two basketballs at the same time is unheard of, but the players can’t get enough of this.

As Globetrotters player Firefly says: “The more, the merrier. If you haven’t seen a game played with two basketballs at the same time, then you don’t know what you’re missing. Sure, one basketball is great. But with two, you can double the tricks, double the scoring and double the craziness!”

Presented by Shine.FM, this event is unparalleled in the history of sports and family entertainment, taking participation and fun to a whole new level.

During the 30-minute pre-game show, “Magic Pass,” fans will take part in a once-in-a-lifetime experience: actually spending time on the court with the Globetrotters one-on-one – shooting, trying out ball tricks, getting autographs and taking photos. Players may also be available after the game for autographs and photos with fans.

Olivet is one of more than 240 locations in 45 states and nine Canadian provinces where the team will play during this tour. This year’s Globetrotters roster features stars such as Special K Daley and Flight Time Lang. They will join many other fan favorites, including 7-foot-8 Tiny Sturgess, who holds the Guinness world record as the World’s Tallest Professional Basketball Player; 5-foot-2 Too Tall Hall, the shortest Globetrotter ever; and female star T-Time Brawner.

Tickets start at $24 and are now available at harlemglobetrotters.com, ticketweb.com, at Shine.FM studios or by phone at 866-468-3401.
