Harlem Globetrotters will bring unprecedented fan participation to the game of basketball with the 2013 “You Write the Rules” World Tour at Olivet’s McHie Arena on Thursday, April 18. Presented by Shine.FM, this event is unparalleled in the history of sports and family entertainment, taking participation and fun to a whole new level.

Smiles will begin before fans even get to the game. Fans will decide the rules for the game that could affect the final outcome. This may be anything from playing with two basketballs at once to getting double the points for each basket made. Before the event, adults and kids will enjoy going to the Globetrotters’ website at harlemglobetrotters.com and voting for which ground-breaking rules they want to see implemented in the game. Then, everyone will see the winning rules in live action at the April 18th game.

During the 30-minute pre-game show, “Magic Pass,” fans will take part in a once-in-a-lifetime experience: actually spending time on the court with the Globetrotters one-on-one – shooting, trying out ball tricks, getting autographs and taking photos. Players may also be available after the game for autographs and photos with fans.

Olivet is one of more than 240 locations in 45 states and nine Canadian provinces where the team will play during this tour. This year’s Globetrotters roster features stars such as Special K Daley and Flight Time Lang. They will join many other fan favorites, including 7-foot-8 Tiny Sturgess, who holds the Guiness world record as the World’s Tallest Professional Basketball Player; 5-foot-2 Too Tall Hall, the shortest Globetrotter ever; and female star T-Time Brawner.

Tickets start at $24 and are now available at harlemglobetrotters.com, ticketweb.com, at Shine.FM studios or by phone at 866-468-3401.
