Orpheus Choir will be the featured group in the first performance of The Art Institute of Chicago’s 2012
Holiday Choral Series on Monday, December 3, 2012, noon to 12:30 p.m. The group will present holiday selections from the Woman’s Board Grand Staircase in the main foyer, 111 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago.
Under the direction of Dr. Jeff Bell of Olivet’s
Department of Music, the choir’s selections will include “Gloria” (J. Rickard), “Midnight Clear” (a 14-part choral piece by M. Nielson), “Some Children See Him” (A. Burt), and “Hallelujah!” (from Handel’s
Messiah).
Featured performers are
Kyle Hance (Arenzville, Ill.),
Wesley Taylor (Kankakee, Ill.),
Brad Palmer (Franklin, Ind.) and
Chris LeFevre (Ashton, Ill.) singing as a men’s quartet, and Dr. Bell as soloist.
There is no charge for this event with museum admission.
