In its ongoing effort to receive professional certification for degree programs,
Olivet's Department of Business recently received an important certification.
Olivet is now certified as an official member of the SAP University
Alliance and one of 200 universities in the United States to offer an Enterprise
Resource Planning program using SAP resources. SAP, a software company based in
Germany, has developed the ERP software for use by for-profit corporations. The
need for workers qualified to support the software continues to grow. By taking
the courses ERP I and ERP II, students will be prepared to interact with
companies around the globe who are using this software package. Professors E.
Steven Butler and Brad Thomas are overseeing this program at Olivet.
“Adding this certification is beneficial to the University and our
students,” said Dr. Glen Rewerts, professor and chair of the department. “We are
preparing our graduates to compete successfully in the evolving business world.
They will have more opportunities to use their skills and talents to influence
that world for Christ.”
