Homecoming 2012: October 31 - November 4, 2012 



Come celebrate your alma mater with old friends! Highlights of this year's Homecoming celebration include: Gaither Vocal Band in concert, Orpheus Choir's 80th Reunion, fall play "God's Favorite," and the annual President's Prayer Breakfast.

 

There are events and opportunities for both the alumni and the current students.  Homecoming is for every Olivetian.  Come and celebrate!

Explore the dynamic life of stars, the powerhouses of the universe. Narrated by Mark Hamill of “Star Wars” fame with a soundtrack performed by the Nashville Orchestra.

Planetarium Show: “Wonders of the Universe” (ticket purchase required)
3 p.m., Strickler Planetarium Strickler Planetarium website  View outer space through the eyes of the Hubble Space Telescope. Witness the birth of the universe, the formation of galaxies. Explore wondrous nebulae and astronomical structures. Fly deep into the Milky Way galaxy and then back to earth on this spectacular tour through the solar system.  

Women’s Volleyball vs. St. Catherine College (ticket purchase required) website  3:30 p.m., McHie Arena THIS GAME HAS BEEN CANCELLED. 

Orpheus Choir Reunion/Rehearsal (ticket purchase required) 1 to 4 p.m., Sanctuary, College Church on campus  Sing, laugh, reconnect and praise the Lord at this special gathering. Rehearse together for Sunday morning worship service in the College Church sanctuary. Then attend the reception in the Christian Life Center.

Gaither Vocal Band’s second visit to Olivet will be an unforgettable evening of music from some of the best loved voices in gospel music. With Bill Gaither, Wes Hampton, David Phelps, Michael English and Mark Lowry. Accompanied by Olivet’s combined student choir and Dr. Young on the organ.

Following Homecoming Concert, Ludwig Center

An intimate gathering with Dr. John C. Bowling, University president, as he shares from his heart about the Lord’s leading for ONU.
