Scott Armstrong

Dr. Armstrong earned a bachelor’s degree in biblical literature from Malone University (Ohio), a master’s degree in sports science from Ashland University (Ohio) and a Ph.D. is in higher education administration from Kent State University (Ohio). He currently serves as Olivet’s Chair of the Department of Exercise and Sports Science, as well as Associate Director of Athletics. He teaches Kinesiology and courses in Sport Management.

With 36 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Armstrong previously served at Malone University (Ohio), Northwest Nazarene University (Idaho) and Baldwin-Wallace University (Ohio). His past duties have included: professor, department chair, head women’s cross country and track coach, athletic director and sports information director.

A former long and triple jumper, Armstrong was inducted into the Malone University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991. He now participates in track and field from the other end of the starter's pistol, as a registered IHSA and TAFUSA official.

His wife, Rev. Dr. Susan Armstrong, serves as worship pastor at the Manteno Church of the Nazarene. Their son, Brendon, and his wife, Aleah, have one son, Ethan, and one daughter, Sienna, and live in Columbus, Ohio.
