General Summary:
The Department of English and Modern Languages at Olivet Nazarene University seeks applicants for a full-time position as Assistant or Associate Professor of English with an emphasis on Rhetoric and Composition.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include teaching basic writing, first and second year composition courses, and upper-division grammar or writing courses. Additional responsibilities include advising students, serving on department and university committees, and pursuing a scholarly agenda.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:
Preference will be given to candidates holding a Ph.D. in English with emphasis in rhetoric and composition or a related field, though consideration will be given to applicants in progress toward a doctoral degree. Desirable secondary areas include ESL (including a teaching license), English education (teaching license preferred), and basic writing.
