Built in 1966, Reed Hall of Science is the home of the Department of Biological Sciences, Department of Physical Sciences and Department of Engineering. In addition to classrooms, labs and a lecture hall, the building also houses an observatory and a greenhouse.

The freshwater aquarium in the lower level holds pike, striper, sunfish, bass, quillback, bluegill, orchids, lilies and 650 gallons of water. This represents a riverine type of system, based it on the Kankakee River ecosystem.

Each academic year, two cadavers — a male and a female — arrive and take up residence here, providing professors and students with many unique study opportunities.
