With a cross elevated 100 feet high and visible from most locations on campus, the Betty and Kenneth Hawkins Centennial Chapel bears witness that the marvelous story of Olivet Nazarene University is a continual story of God at work, changing lives for time and eternity.
This facility seats 3,000 and is where weekly chapel services are held for students, faculty and staff. Concerts and large group events — like Ladies Day, Prime Time Day and Celebrate Life — also take place here. Recent speakers and performers include: Switchfoot, Chris Tomlin, Bill and Gloria Gaither, Dr. Ben Carson of Johns Hopkins University, Steven Moore of the Wall Street Journal and Lysa TerKeurst of Proverbs 31 Ministries. Organ concerts featuring U.S. and international organists showcase the world-class Ruffatti pipe organ.
Centennial Chapel is also the home of the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra.
