Blake Spencer '14 was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and grew up in Kansas City as the oldest son in a family of seven children. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration — with a second major in marketing and a minor in leadership studies — from Olivet. Currently, he is a graduate student in Olivet's M.B.A. program.
While a student at Olivet, he was a member of the Tiger men's varsity basketball for two years. He was named to the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference's All-Academic Team. In 2014, Blake was selected
by Olivet for
Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
During his junior and senior years, he was also a resident assistant in the Grand Apartments.
In 2016, Blake became the resident director for the Stadium Apartments, housing for 60 male upperclassmen. Prior to that assignment, he was resident director of Chapman Hall.
After graduating from ONU in 2014, Blake married Kate (Wetmore) '16. Kate holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education and is a fifth grade teacher at St. George School in Bourbonnais.
One of Blake's greatest joys is welcoming and assisting undergraduate students and their families as they become part of the Olivet community. "I love working for Olivet because it is a place that lives out Colossians 3:23, 'Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as if working for the Lord and not man,'" he says.
