Favorite class at Olivet: My favorite class at Olivet was “Doctrine of Holiness.” This class was crucial in shaping my theology and impacted how I want to live my life.

Best Olivet memory: Living on Chapman 2nd floor with 50 other guys. Four of them quickly became my best friends and there began “The Big Five.” From random late night shenanigans to small group meet-ups to eventually being in each other’s weddings, “The Big Five” is one of my fondest memories of college.

Favorite ONU prof and why: Professor Teresa Garner. I admire her love for her students. She takes the time to personally invest in each one, getting to know their passions, personalities and callings. She is a huge influence in my life.

What makes Olivet different from other universities? Olivet provides a community that fosters confidence — in the things you love and the goals you want to achieve.

Hobbies: I grew up as a skater kid, so I like the occasional longboard ride around town. I enjoy photography and seeing new places. This is a perfect combo for a traveling recruiter. On weekends, you’ll often find me hanging out with friends, taking fun trips or playing volleyball.

Favorite extracurricular activity as a student: During my freshman and sophomore years, I traveled with a worship band at Olivet. I loved being able to lead worship and hang out with high school students at camps and churches.

Favorite college trip: During my junior year, two friends and I took a week-long spring break road trip along the California coast. We lived out of a colorful campervan and drove down the entire coast from San Francisco to San Diego. Best week of my life.

Advice for new students: You don’t have to have it all figured out now. College is a time of growth and learning more about who you are. Find a place where you can see yourself thrive and jump into community.

Favorite Bible verse: “No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.” 1 John 4:12 ESV

Psalm

119:66

Teach me good discernment and knowledge, for I believe in Your commandments.
