Favorite class at Olivet: My favorite class at Olivet had to be professional communication. I loved being able to expand my horizons and step outside of my comfort zone as a communicator.

Best Olivet memory: Leading and being point guard of the conference regular season and conference tournament championship basketball team my senior year. The first team to accomplish that feat since 2000.

Favorite ONU prof and why: Dr. Jay Martinson. He was extremely personable, and truly cared me about me as an individual.

What makes Olivet different from other universities? The environment and campus life separates Olivet from any other campus in America. It truly is a place that practices what it preaches in terms of the standard of excellence that is a part of everything.

Hobbies: I love  going to movies, doing anything active and making random spontaneous trips. I have a crazy passion for sports, and enjoy competing in everything I do.

Favorite extracurricular activity as a student: Had the opportunity to compete for 4 years on the men’s varsity basketball team. I also enjoyed being a part of Intramurals, and attending other athletic events.

Favorite college trip: My senior year the basketball team took a trip down to play in Lakeland, Florida. The best part was having friends and family who had never seen me play before had the opportunity to come and watch me on the court.

Advice for new students: EMBRACE Olivet. The quicker you make the choice to truly embrace campus life, dorm life and spiritual life, the quicker Olivet becomes a school that you can call HOME.

Favorite Bible verse: “Trust in the lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Isaiah

40:31

Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
