A third generation Nazarene pastor, Professor Wine’s academic interests include effective teaching, discipleship, family ministry and the equipping of laity. Currently, he teaches in Olivet's Department of Christian Ministry.

He has been recognized in Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities, is a former general secretary of Nazarene Youth International, and received a Timothy Award from Nazarene Youth International. He has served the Nazarene Church as a district Youth President, Regional NYI Director and a member of the General Council of Nazarene Youth International.

Professor Wine has extensive ministry experience in the Church of the Nazarene, serving as youth pastor in Lima, Mount Vernon, and Canton, Ohio, as well as associate pastor at College Church of the Nazarene, Bourbonnais, Illinois. He was also a contributing writer for the Evangelical Dictionary of Christian Education (Baker, 2001), writing the piece on “Kinesthetic Learners,” and for “Footprints” (Beacon Hill Press, 1983), contributing “Living with Parents.”

He has served as curriculum writer for the Engage the Word adult Sunday school Series, a joint venture of Nazarene Publishing House and The American Bible Society. 

In 2013, Professor Wine received the President's special recognition as Olivet's 2013 Faculty Member of the Year.

His hobbies and interests include hiking, golfing, pre-marriage counseling and college sports. His wife, Donna, is a reading specialist. Their son, Dr. Jeffrey Wine, is an optometrist and lives in Phoenix, Arizona, with his wife, Joy, and children, Hadley, Hayden and Jude. Their daughter, Janelle, and her husband, Rev. Brad Thompson, live in New Lenox, Illinois, and have two sons, Carter and Miles. Brad is lead pastor of Joliet First Church of the Nazarene.
