Dr. Blanchette is chair of the Department of Christian Ministry and serves as the director of the children’s ministry undergraduate degree program and the family ministry graduate degree program. He teaches in the Christian Education field and specializes in children and family ministry.

Ordained as an elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 1993, he served as a children’s pastor for 18 years prior to teaching at Olivet. Currently, he serves as part-time Assistant Pastor of Family Life Ministry at Kankakee First Church of the Nazarene and is a board member of the Nazarene Children’s Leadership Network.

He and his wife, Teri, have two daughters, Sarah and Emily. His hobbies include cooking, gardening and most any sport.
