With more than 28 years in the field of social work/mental health, Professor Lee teaches courses in substance abuse, mental health issues, criminal personality disorders, groups and families. His academic interests include adult children of chemically dependent family systems, life span development and faith in mental health.

A licensed clinical social worker, and a certified alcohol and other drug counselor, he has worked with chronically mentally ill and chemically dependent populations, as well as provided individual, marital and family therapies. He is recognized as a substance abuse professional by the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association. He is also a member of the National and Illinois Psychological Associations.

Flower gardening, baseball, old movies and bike rides are some of his leisure interests. He and his wife, Cynthia, reside in Kankakee and have two daughters, Meghan and Victoria, and two grandson, Jackson and Logan.
