A full-time Olivet faculty member since 1998 and an adjunct professor for two years before that, Coach Williams teaches courses for physical education and health majors. She also serves as an academic advisor.

An intercollegiate volleyball coach since 1980 and head coach at Olivet since 1996, Coach Williams has led Tiger volleyball teams to 10 NAIA national tournament appearances, 10 CCAC regular season championships and back-to-back NCCAA national championships in 2001 and 2002. She is fourth among active NAIA coaches in career wins, with more than 800 wins. One her greatest passions is taking her teams on mission trips.

She was inducted into the CCAC Hall of Fame and ONU Hall of Fame in recognition of her coaching skills.

Before coming to Olivet, she was the head volleyball coach at NCAA Division I University of Alabama in Birmingham from 1980 to 1992.

Coach Williams’ other activities include: ONU Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Huddle co-sponsor, former NAIA National and Conference Volleyball Rater, past board member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association and USA Volleyball, and past president of the NAIA Volleyball Coaches Association. She is a member of the Society of Health and Physical Educators, Recreation and Dance, and the American Association of Health.

She and her husband, Steve, have two grown children, Douglas and Lisa and son-in-law, Joey. Their two grandchildren are the source of much love and activity in their lives.
