Amanda Luby

School of Engineering

M.S. (Electrical and Computer Engineering), 2015, Purdue University
B.S. (Engineering), 2013, Olivet Nazarene University

Professor Luby joined Olivet's full-time faculty in 2015. Her passion for teaching motivates her to use her knowledge and expertise in preparing the next generation of engineering professionals. Her goal is to help students succeed in their degree programs while growing in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

During her master's degree studies at Purdue, Professor Luby focused on electromagnetics and optics. As a teaching assistant, both at Purdue and Olivet, she gained valuable experience in relating with students, as well as in preparing and presenting lessons. She is a two-time recipient of the Purdue College of Engineering's Magoon Award for Teaching Excellence and also a recipient of the Graduate Teaching Award from Purdue's Teaching Academy.

Outside of the classroom and lab, you may find Professor Luby kayaking, hiking, camping or watching hockey. She is also an accomplished musician, playing violin and viola - and occasionally cello - with orchestras and on church worship teams.

A Bible verse that is important to Professor Luby is from the book of Isaiah: "For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you" (Isaiah 41:13).
