Dale Oswalt

 Before joining Olivet’s faculty, Dr. Oswalt had a 21-year career in public education. He taught at the elementary school level and coached several sports at the middle school level.

At Olivet, he teaches courses in classroom management, math and science methods, early adolescent development, and management and professional practices for education. He also teaches courses for the master of arts in education and doctorate degree programs.

In 2008, Dr. Oswalt received the Richard M. Jones Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence. He is also a member of Who’s Who for Teachers of America; Kappa Delta Pi; Nazarene Educators Worldwide; and Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD).

In his leisure time, he enjoys riding his motorcycle, fishing and traveling. A native of Hammond, Ind., he is one of four children. He and his wife, Laurie, have one son, Brian, plus two cats, and a tarantula.




For wisdom is a safeguard, as money is a safeguard, but the excellency of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to them that have it.
